Visitors arrive from all over the world with a list of things to do in St. Lucia while on vacation. At the top of every list is, baking in the sun on a beautiful beach.
Fortunately, St. Lucia is blessed with some of the most magnificent sun-kissed beaches you’ve ever seen.
Most have beautiful palm trees swaying in the wind. Since all of them are too numerous to mention, here are some of the best St Lucia beaches that you need to explore.
Most Popular St Lucia Beaches
1. Reduit Beach
This is probably the most famous beach on the Island of St. Lucia. It may be due to the resort hotels along the beachfront, the Royal St. Lucian, Papillion and the Rex St. Lucian.
There are also a lot of tourists visiting from the cruise ships as well. Fortunately, Reduit offers plenty of activities for beachgoers, so it should be on your list of St Lucia beaches to visit.
You can rent water-sports equipment from a variety of vendors along the beach, as well as lounge chairs if you want to relax in the sun.
Reduit beach has other facilities as well as many local dining spots to enjoy, from casual eateries to charming restaurants serving a wide range of island dishes.
2. Anse Cochon
On the island’s western coast, halfway down, located between Soufrière and Castries, you will find a strip of dark sand beach 200 meters in length.
It’s named Anse Cochon, a place that appears almost untouched by civilization and one of the best spots for snorkeling.
Its jungle undergrowth, crystal waters and shoreline reef make Anse Cochon very special indeed.
Adjacent to Anse Cochon beach you will find Ti Kaye Resort, where non-resident guests can rent snorkeling gear, sun loungers, and kayaks.
You can also dine in their bar/restaurant where you will enjoy the most delicious fisherman’s catch burger and a whole menu full of tasty Caribbean dishes.
3. Anse des Pitons
Anse des Pitons is located on the western side of St. Lucia, just south of Soufrière and nestled between the two Piton Mountains.
You have a gorgeous white sandy beach to relax on with the emerald green Caribbean Sea to swim in, hugged on either side by two magnificent mountains. What could be more magical?
Situated on one side of Anse de Pitons Beach is the Sugar Beach Resort, so that side of the beach is for private resort use.
But on the northern side, the beach is there for the public to enjoy and easily accessible, either by boat or via the Viceroy Resort.
4. Pigeon Island National Park Beach
If you’re looking for things to do beyond beach activities, then you won’t want to miss Pigeon Island National Park.
The park is located at the north end of St. Lucia and has more than just one of the best St Lucia beaches.
Pigeon Island is full of activities once you’ve had your fill of relaxing in the sun and swimming.
You can climb up to Fort Rodney for a panoramic view of the island of Martinique and visit the rum bar in the warren underneath the fort.
You can also tour the park museum for a little culture and dine at your choice of two restaurants.
5. Marigot Bay
Marigot Bay is situated on the western side of St. Lucia, and for some reason the film industry loves it.
Because Marigot Bay has appeared in so many films, people flock here to experience the glamour.
It’s beautiful too, one of the St Lucia beaches with sparkling white sand, palm trees swaying in the breeze with catamarans and boats anchored in the bay.
The Scenery makes Marigot Bay a very romantic setting.
There are also a lot of smaller beaches in the area as well, so there is a lot for visitors to see and do.
Unfortunately, this can be a downside because the beaches can become a bit crowded.
If you want something more secluded, you can explore other beaches where you will find what you’re looking for, including gorgeous views and plenty of sunshine.
